FPI investment limit in Govt Securities hiked

In a move that could temporarily soften bond yields, the Reserve Bank of India, in consultation with the Government, on Friday hiked the foreign portfolio investors (FPI) investment limit in Central government securities (G-Sec) from 5 per cent of outstanding stock now to 5.5 per cent in FY2019 and 6 per cent in FY2020.

The hike comes in the wake of 99.31 per cent of the upper FII investment limit in G-Secs of Rs. 1,91,300 crore getting utilised. As per NSDL data, as on April 5, headroom for only Rs. 1,311 crore investment was available.

 

TN govt launches mobile app for farmers

In a bid to use technology for farmers’ benefit, the Tamil Nadu Government has come out with a mobile application that will allow ryots to have access to nine types of services, including details about their crop insurance.

Forced to play together by AITA, 44-year-old Paes and Bopanna downed a fighting Chinese pair of Mo Xin Gong and Ze Zhang 5-7 7-6(5) 7-6(3) in the do-or-die doubles rubber of the Asia/Oceania Group-I tie.

 

Chhattisgarh awarded ‘State of the Year’

Chhattisgarh bagged the ‘State of the Year’ Award for its remarkable progress in business and services activities in various sectors of the state. The remarkable jump is the result of policy decisions taken in the field of business by Chhattisgarh government in the past few years and its effective implementation. Union Information Technology and Electronics Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad gave the award at India Business Leader Awards (IBLA) event. The award was received by Chhattisgarh Revenue, Higher Education, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey. On the occasion, the minister attributed the growth of the state to the BJP government which has been in power since 2003 in the state. The state government has successfully completed 14 years under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh.
