General Intelligence

In SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam 2017 the questions of General Intelligence(Reasoning) were quite easy as usual. But some questions were difficult which were asked from figure counting and coding-decoding. Students can have a fair idea of what SSC had been upto in terms of these questions. As per the inputs shared by students, this was the easiest among all the other sections.

English Language

English Language section again surprised candidates with 1 question from Active/Passive Voice and 1 question from narration. There was no reading comprehension and this was a major shocker for students. This year in this shift there was a cloze test (cloze tests were not seen in CGL Tier I exams in last 2-3 years). Para Jumble was a new introduction in this year’s exam and it is time-consuming. Questions from Antonyms & Synonyms were quite difficult.

Quantitative Aptitude

Quant in CGL 2017 exam was of moderate level. In this shift, Quant questions were very calculative. 5 Questions from DI were asked. There were 5 questions of SI & CI and Profit and Loss. Geometry questions are not that easy.Questions from Trigonometry & algebra were of moderate level.

There were 1 DI in the Exam

Some questions from exam:

  • Two trains were moving in opposite direction at the speed of 30 and 45 km/hr respectively. The length of trains is 450m,550m respectively. Find the time in which they will cross each other?
  • What will be the value of X in a number 211x so that it becomes perfect square?

General Awareness

In SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam 2017, General Awareness questions were asked from all aspects of GA. Maximum questions were from History (4-5), Polity (4-5) and Science (7-8 questions). The level was easy-moderate.

  • What is the SI unit of power?
  • Which article is heart and soul of Indian Constitution?
  • What is the chemical formula of quick lime?
  • Where was Brics summit 2017 held?
  • Recently who got Filmfare lifetime achievement award?
  • The rolling plan came after which 5-year plan?
