MDWS Bags Award for best implementation of E-office

The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation for implementation of e-office softwareyesterday.

The award was received by Shri SatyabrataSahu, Joint Secretary and Mrs SeemantineeSengupta, Senior Technical Director, HOD, NIC-MDWS, on behalf of the Ministry at a function heldat the Ministry of Personnel, Grievances and Pension.

 

Rs. 44830.4 lakh funds released to the State Government of Chhattisgarh under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Schemefrom 2014-15 to 2017-18

A total of  Rs. 44830.4 lakh has been released to the State Government of Chhattisgarh under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Tribal Sub Scheme (TSS) from 2014-15 to 2017-18.

 

PM launches development projects in Manipur, addresses public meeting

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today launched development projects worth Rs. 750 crore in Manipur. He laid the Foundation Stone of the National Sports University, 1000 Anganwadi Centres, and several other important development projects. He inaugurated the Luwangpokpa Multi Sports Complex, the Rani Gaidinliu Park, and other important development projects. He also addressed a public meeting at Luwangsangbam.

 

India to host International Competition Network Annual Conference for the first time from 21st to 23rd March 2018 at New Delhi

India to host 17th Annual Conference of International Competition Network 2018 (ICN2018) from 21st to 23rdMarch 2018 in New Delhi. While addressing the press conference, Competition Commission of India’s Chairperson Shri Devender Singh Sikri said that this is the first time India is hosting the ICN2018 Annual Conference since it joined International Competition Network (ICN) in 2009. Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Arun Jaitley will inaugurate ICN2018 Annual Conference on 21st March 2018 while Union Minister for Railways and Coal Shri Piyush Goyal will attend the valedictory on the final day of the conference.

 

INDIA and ADB Sign $120 Million Loan to Improve Rail Infrastructure

Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) today signed a $120 million loan agreement for completion of works for double-tracking and electrification of railways tracks along high-density corridors to improve operational efficiency of Indian railways.

The tranche 3 loan is part of the $500 million multi-tranche financing facility for Railway Sector Investment Program approved by the ADB Board in 2011. The loan amount will be used to complete the ongoing works commenced under earlier tranches.

 

Indian Railways to Implement Electronic Reverse Auction for All High Value Procurements of Goods, Services and Works

Indian Railways as a major reforms initiative has decided to implement Electronic Reverse Auction for all High Value procurements. A policy decision to this effect has been taken to include supply of Goods, Services and also for Projects and Works. The Reverse Auction will be applied to all Zonal Railways, Production Units and by all Railway PSUs.

Suzlon commissions 340 MW solar projects

Renewable energy company Suzlon has announced it has commissioned 340 MW of solar power generation projects across Telangana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

With the commissioning of the 340-MW generation capacity, Suzlon has completed delivery of its entire solar order book. These projects were commissioned on turnkey basis across Telangana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

 

Ramco Systems to set up innovation centre in Melbourne

Ramco Systems Ltd, the Chennai-based IT company, will set up its Asia-Pacific Centre of Excellence for Workforce Innovation in Melbourne. This is to attract technology talent from Australia to design and develop cloud-based solutions to address HR challenges.

The centre will be located at Ramco’s Oceania headquarters in Melbourne’s Southbank district, which is emerging as a major technological hub and one of Asia-Pacific’s most promising start-up ecosystems.

 

TN to adopt revenue-sharing model for payments to cane farmers

The sugar industry in Tamil Nadu is relieved with the State government formally announcing a shift to revenue-sharing formula for sugarcane pricing.

O Panneerselvam, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, announced in the Budget today that the State government will no longer announce a State Advised Price for sugarcane from the current season.

 

Infosys to open tech hub in Connecticut

India’s second largest software services firm Infosys will set up a new technology and innovation hub in Hartford, Connecticut, and hire 1,000 American workers in the state by 2022.

Last year, Infosys had announced setting up of four such hubs and hiring about 10,000 locals in the US over the next two years.

 

Wipro Infra launches 3D printing centre in Bengaluru

Wipro3D, the additive manufacturing arm of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, has launched an experience centre for metal 3D printing here. The solutions developed in the centre will be taken to markets across the world.

Launched by the company’s billionaire Chairman Azim Premji, the 12,000 sq ft centre has capabilities such as post-processing, research, characterisation and validation for metal additive manufacturing. 3D printing is a process through which materials are added or solidified to create a 3D object.

 

Google to ban ads on cryptocurrencies

Alphabet Inc’s Google said on Wednesday it will ban advertisements for cryptocurrencies and related content starting in June.

Under the new policy, the company will ban ads for unregulated or speculative financial products like binary options, cryptocurrency and financial spread betting among others. It will no longer advertise “Binary options and synonymous products” and “cryptocurrencies and related content”. This includes ads about initial coin offerings, cryptocurrency exchanges, cryptocurrency wallets, and cryptocurrency trading advice, the company has said.
