Tribal Affairs Minister, Shri Jual Oram to launch “E-Tribes India” in New Delhi

The Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India, (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, is going Digital as per the vision document of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. The “e-Tribes India” would be launched tomorrow by the Union Tribal Affairs Minister, Shri Jual Oram. The Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Jaswantsinh Sumanbhai Bhabhor and the Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Shri Sudarshan Bhagat will also grace the occasion.

The Launch of e-Tribes, TRIFED’s websites includes www.tribesindia.comwww.trifed.in and Retail Inventory Software and M-commerce app. Besides, the occasion will also mark the launch of ‘Tribes India’ Banners at Amazon, Snapdeal, Paytm & GeM. TRIFED’s Handbook for Retail Trade and TRIFED’s quarterly magazine ‘Tribes Haat’ will also be inaugurated.

 

ISA and India sign the Host Country Agreement

The International Solar Alliance (ISA) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), signed the Host Country Agreement here, today. The Agreement will give ISA a juridical personality and gives it power to contract, to acquire and dispose off movable and immovable properties, to institute and defend legal proceedings. Under this agreement, ISA shall enjoy such privileges, applicable tax concessions and immunities as are necessary for ISA’s Headquarter to independently discharge its function and programmes. ISA shall be deriving its status, privileges and immunities as per Article 10 of Framework Agreement.

 

The first International Exhibition of Graphic Prints ‘Print Biennale India 2018’ inaugurated in New Delhi

In keeping with its role as the country’s National Academy of Art, the Lalit Kala Akademi is hosting the first-ever International Print Biennale in the country with a record number of 17 countries taking part in it. The first-ever International Exhibition of Graphic Prints ‘Print Biennale India 2018’ opened today, at the Rabindra Bhavan Galleries of the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi. The eminent Artist-Printmaker, Shri Shakti Barman was the Chief Guest.  The inaugural ceremony was graced with the presence of the Biennale Commissioner, Ms. Anupam Sud and its steering committee members Shri Ananda Moy Banerji, Shri Dattatraya Apte, Shri R.S. Sham Sunder, Ms. Paila Sen Gupta and Shri Vijay Bagodi.

 

Andhra Pradesh Government Launches Multi-Utility Vehicle ‘Naipunya Ratham’
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched the Naipunya Ratham, a multi-utility vehicle.   Also known as ‘World on Wheels (WoW)’, Naipunya Ratham is aimed at taking technology and innovation to the remote corners of the State. As part of the ‘Smart Village Smart Ward Programme’ of the state, the Naipunya Rathams will facilitate and look to improve digital literacy and digital skills. The State Government has allotted Rs 300 crore for the project.
Chhattisgarh bags ‘Water Digest Award’ for best water conservation and irrigation facility
Chhattisgarh bagged the National ‘Water Digest Award’ for Water Conservation-Diversion and for increasing the irrigation capacity in the State. This is the first time that Chhattisgarh Water Resources Department had been given national Award during the past 17 years. The Union Minister of State for Water Resources Arjun Ram Megwal presented the award to Chhattisgarh Water Resources Department Secretary Sonmani Bora. The Award is presented every year by the globally renowned magazine ‘Water Digest’-which focuses mainly on water resources. Chhattisgarh State bagged the award for increasing the irrigation capacity, community participation, water management -water diversion, water conservation, efforts towards inter-linking of rivers, better techniques utilized in irrigation facilities.
Professor J S Rajput appointed as India’s representative to the Executive Board of UNESCO
Professor J S Rajput, a former Director NCERT is selected as India’s representative to the Executive Board (EXB) of UNESCO. Notably, Professor J S Rajput is an eminent educationist with rich experience in various fields including UNESCO. The EXB has a four-year term of office and 58 seats. The executive board is one of the constitutional organs of UNESCO and is elected by the General Conference. The executive board examines the work for the organization and the corresponding budget estimates. In practice, the executive board is the main organ responsible for all policies and programmes of UNESCO. The elections of Members of the EXB for the term 2017-21 took place on 8th November 2017, in which India won with 162 votes in Group IV during the 39th session of the General Conference which was held from 30th October to 14th November 2017
Pankaj Advani Wins Asian Billiards Championships Title
Pankaj Advani defended his Asian Billiards Championships title by demolishing his practice partner B Bhaskar 6-1 in the summit clash in Yangon, Myanmar. With this win, Advani remains the reigning Indian, Asian and world champion in billiards for 2017-18. This is Advani’s 11th gold medal at the Asian level of cue sports. India’s Amee Kamani won the Asian Women’s Snooker title by blanking her Thai opponent Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan 3-0.

Martin Vizcarra was sworn in as the country’s new president of Peru. Before the appointment, he was Peru’s first vice president and ambassador to Canada. He has replaced Pedro Pablo Kuczynski who has resigned from the post recently.
PV Sindhu To Be India’s Flag-Bearer At 2018 CWG
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) chooses PV Sindhu as the flag-bearer of the Indian contingent for the opening ceremony of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. The opening ceremony will be held on April 4. She won a silver medal at the Rio Olympics two years ago, the Hyderabad-based World No. 3 Sindhu is one of the favorites to win the badminton women’s singles title in Gold Coast.
